About DBT BUILDER

Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam has been sanctioned with a grant of Rs.2.27 crores to establish DBT-BUILDER–Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam Interdisciplinary Life Science Programme for Advance Research and Education under the “Boost to University Interdisciplinary Life Science Departments for Education and Research (DBT BUILDER Project ( Level-I)” Programme for advanced research and education by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. BUILDER programme aims to promote interaction of existing life science departments in interdisciplinary research through the creation of a new research agenda.

Objectives:

  • To upgrade the existing facilities in animal house, Omics lab and to establish the Greenhouse which facilitate for training and research of life science students.
  • To upgrade and modernize life science laboratories needed for teaching, learning, research, and skill enhancement training.
  • To extend innovative research in emerging areas (from discovery to market) through regrouping research activities and training programmes.
  • To improve the quality education, skills, and research temperament for the number of postgraduate students at M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoctoral levels.
