The world is in the midst of an information explosion. The Department tries to sensitize the students to the new technologies of communication, which will enable them to gain employment in this age of information. They are trained for careers in Journalism, Media Management, Public Relations, Advertising and Television Production. The department offers excellent training in Photography, Computers, Multimedia, Video production and Editing. Television production is taught in sophisticated labs and in association with the media industry for students to gain hands on experience in the new media.
The course offers potential to find employment in a range of careers in reputed media organizations like newspapers, magazines, television channels, radio stations, advertising agencies, government information and public relations, corporate communication sectors, tourism agencies, development organizations, NGO's and MNCs specializing in communication programmes as reporters, presenters, script writers, programme directors and media entrepreneurs

Eligibility : Any graduate with 45% on the aggregate Programme Content :Communication Models, Reporting and Editing, Radio and Television Production, New Media Technology, Advertising and Marketing Communication, International Communication and Media Globalization, Media Law and Ethics Communication, Research Methods, Photography, Women and Media, Graphic Design, Development Communication, Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Travel and Tourism Communication. Internship :Students have to undergo two internships, one at the end of the second semester for a period of two weeks in a newspaper organization and another in a Television Channel/ Public Relations Department/ Advertising Agency /Tourism department or any other media organization for a period of 6 weeks at the end of Fourth Semester. If any student fails to fulfil these requirements, her results will be with-held. |

The course encompasses a blend of two streams of subjects namely media and management. This combination helps the aspirants to acquaint with skills to get jobs in media industry and management disciplines like Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Management Information Systems, Advertising, Marketing, Media and Sales Promotion, Research organizations, Public Relations, Radio, Television Production , Event Management, Publishing and Corporate Video Production. Eligibility : Bachelor Degree of any recognized University Admission : The candidates should qualify through the State Level Common Entrance Test (ICET).Admission will be made on the basis of ranks obtained in the Entrance Test. Programme Content Internship :Students have to undergo two internships, one at the end of the second semester for a period of two weeks in a newspaper organization and another in /Television /Public Relations Department,/Advertising Agency/ Corporate sector/ or any other Media Organization/ industry for a period of 6 weeks at the end of Fourth Semester.
