Given the increasing importance of the English Language in the contemporary world, success in any profession is achieved to a large extent by one’s proficiency in the English Language. The M.A. program in English is offered by the department with the two-fold objective of honing the literary sensibilities and communicative skills of the students. Language through literature is one of the mottos of the department. As teaching is the most preferred career option of the students, the course is executed with special accent on English Language Teaching. The Mini Research Project in the IV Semester attempts to develop research aptitude and the course as a whole is designed in such a way that students are equipped to pursue any career of their choice.
